Synopsis
In 2045, the World Economic Forum, now the World Forum (WF), has seized global power and implemented a "Great Reset" focused on resource control and a massive depopulation plan. They aggressively push transhumanism, urging people to "upgrade" to become Synthians, promising perfection and control. Those who refuse, called "FreeMinds," are confined to "15-minute cities," open-air prisons controlled by Cadence, an AI. Cadence uses deadly music as a sonic weapon, trapping FreeMinds and enforcing compliance through a lethal social credit system.
Kai, a teen with synesthesia, lives in a 15-minute city. She's haunted by the memory of her disabled brother, Zander, who was taken by their father to be "upgraded." This act of betrayal has left Kai deeply distrustful. However, Kai's synesthesia allows her to see gaps in Cadence's sonic fence, enabling her to escape. As Kai explores beyond her city, she discovers the full extent of the WF's agenda and seeks to find Zander. Her personal quest evolves into a mission to unite the scattered FreeMinds in a rebellion against the WF. Kai's unique ability makes her the key to this fight. She must overcome her distrust and lead a coup to topple the WF, confronting her own lies and risking everything for the soul of humanity and her brother's return to his original self.
